A fire erupted in a luxurious hotel and restaurant in London, known for attracting celebrities, leading to the evacuation of approximately 100 individuals, according to fire service reports.

Over 100 firefighters, supported by 20 fire engines, spent several hours battling the intense blaze that engulfed the Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone on Friday, as stated by the London Fire Brigade.

This red-brick establishment, which was formerly a fire station dating back to the late 1800s, has become a popular destination for many famous personalities, including iconic stars such as Madonna, Kylie Minogue, and Tom Cruise.

It was also scheduled to host a party for Netflix following the BAFTA awards on Sunday.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and officials announced that the fire was under control by late Friday evening.

The fire brigade explained that the incident began in the ground floor ducting during the afternoon and rapidly spread up to the roof of the four-story building. The exact cause of the fire remains undetermined.

“Crews labored diligently for hours under challenging conditions within a complex historic structure and were successful in containing the fire,” the brigade commented.

The owner of the hotel, Andre Balazs, announced that the venue would be closed until further notice as they assess the situation.
