DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Exciting changes are happening as Pitbull has decided to end his association with Trackhouse Racing, the NASCAR team he’s been connected with since its inception in 2021. Despite this split, the artist is set to perform during the festivities leading up to the famous Daytona 500, where actor Anthony Mackie will act as grand marshal, giving the signal for the race to commence.

Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Christian Perez, became a co-owner of Trackhouse Racing just before the team’s first appearance in the NASCAR Cup Series during the 2021 Daytona 500. This Sunday, Trackhouse will have a diverse lineup of four drivers representing different nations in the race.

Florida’s Ross Chastain, known for his work as a watermelon farmer, will drive as the American representative. New Zealander Shane van Gisbergen is also a part of the lineup, while Daniel Suarez, who recently obtained American citizenship but hails from Mexico, rounds out the team. Brazilian driver Helio Castroneves, a four-time Indianapolis 500 champion, will be making his debut in NASCAR, showcasing the team’s international flair.

Though Pitbull will not be involved with the Trackhouse team during the upcoming race, he emphasized his passion for both NASCAR and music, viewing them as avenues to bring people together and showcase diverse opportunities. In a social media post, he reflected on the five years spent promoting NASCAR to new audiences and expressed gratitude for the NASCAR fans he encountered. He announced the termination of the partnership with Trackhouse Racing, effective immediately, while also looking forward to his performance at the Daytona 500.

Justin Marks, the former driver who founded Trackhouse Racing, expressed his appreciation for Pitbull’s pivotal role in the team’s early success. He recognized the value of Pitbull’s contribution to the brand during its formative stages, noting that the partnership yielded mutual benefits as the team has grown.

Neither Pitbull nor Trackhouse Racing has disclosed the reasons behind their decision to part ways. However, this marks a significant moment in the ongoing evolution of both the artist’s career and the NASCAR organization.
