HONOLULU — In a tightly contested match, Marcus Greene contributed 10 points to propel Hawaii to a narrow 62-60 victory over Long Beach State on Thursday evening. Greene sealed the win with a pair of free throws, which he made with just five seconds remaining on the clock.

Joining Greene in the scoring department, Ryan Rapp and Tanner Christensen also netted 10 points each for the Rainbow Warriors, who improved their overall record to 13-11 and 5-8 within the Big West Conference. Additionally, Harry Rouhliadeff made a notable impact with nine points and nine rebounds, helping to solidify Hawaii’s performance throughout the game.

On the opposing side, Long Beach State’s TJ Wainwright was the standout performer, leading his team with 20 points, including 11 scored in the tense final seven minutes of the contest. Devin Askew added another 16 points, while Kam Martin chipped in with 11. Unfortunately for Long Beach State, this loss marks their ninth consecutive defeat, as they continue to struggle in the current season, holding a record of 7-19 and 3-11 in conference play.

For Hawaii, this win represents only their second victory since mid-January, following a previous 81-70 win against Cal State Bakersfield on January 19.

Looking ahead, Long Beach State is scheduled to face UC Riverside next Thursday on the road, while Hawaii will host UC Irvine on Saturday at home.
