Cal Poly secures 98-83 victory against Cal State Fullerton

    FULLERTON, Calif.
    — Cayden Ward led the way with 19 points as Cal Poly triumphed over Cal State Fullerton with a score of 98-83 on Thursday evening.
    As part of their performance, Ward also contributed seven rebounds for the Mustangs, who now have a record of 10 wins and 15 losses, alongside a 4-9 record in the Big West Conference.
    Jarred Hyder was another key player for Cal Poly, finishing the game with 17 points while shooting 60% from the field (6 of 10) and scoring 50% from three-point range (2 of 4).
    He also recorded six assists. Owen Koonce matched Hyder’s scoring with 17 points as well, hitting 7 of 16 shots, which included 3 of 7 from beyond the arc.

    For the Titans, Keith Richards was the standout performer, netting 22 points.
    In addition, Donovan Oday added 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Kobe Young chipped in with 12 points.
    Unfortunately for Cal State Fullerton, this defeat marked their sixth consecutive loss (6-20 overall, 1-13 in the conference).

    Looking ahead, both teams will take the court again on Saturday.
    Cal Poly is set to visit Cal State Northridge, while Cal State Fullerton will travel to face Cal State Bakersfield.
