MACOMB, Ill. — On Thursday night, Marko Maletic delivered an impressive performance with 30 points, leading the Western Illinois Leathernecks to a decisive 87-62 victory over Southern Indiana. This win marked the end of a challenging 10-game losing streak for the Leathernecks.
Maletic not only excelled in scoring but also contributed significantly on the boards, grabbing 10 rebounds for his team. Trey Deveaux supported the effort with a solid game, totaling 17 points while shooting an impressive 7 of 11 from the field. He also converted all three of his free-throw attempts and secured five rebounds. Ryan Myers added to the offensive output, scoring 13 points on a shooting line of 5 of 9, including 3 of 6 from beyond the arc.
For the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles, Damoni Harrison was the standout player, achieving a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Jayland Randall also contributed with 17 points, while Stephen Olowoniyi chipped in with 10 points to help his team.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to return to action on Saturday. Western Illinois will face Morehead State at home, while Southern Indiana will travel to take on Lindenwood.
