BURLINGTON, Vt. — In a commanding performance, Ileri Ayo-Faleye led the Vermont Catamounts to a decisive 79-59 victory over the New Hampshire Wildcats on Thursday night, contributing a total of 16 points to the team’s success.
In addition to his scoring, Ayo-Faleye dished out five assists to help his teammates excel. Shamir Bogues had an impressive night as well, finishing with 15 points after hitting 6 of 7 field goals and going 2 of 4 from the charity stripe. He also made his presence felt on the boards with eight rebounds, while contributing six assists and three steals. Nick Fiorillo also stepped up, recording 14 points on 4 of 10 shooting, including 3 of 9 from beyond the arc, along with a perfect 3 for 3 from the foul line.
For the Wildcats, which now hold a record of 6-20 and 4-7 in the conference, Jawarie Hamelin emerged as the top scorer with 12 points, alongside four assists and two blocks. Khalil Badru added another 11 points to the scoreboard, and Sami Pissis contributed eight points in the losing effort.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to return to the court on Saturday. Vermont will travel to face Maine, while New Hampshire will host UMass-Lowell in their next matchup.
