HIGH POINT, N.C. — In a thrilling matchup, High Point University overcame Longwood with a score of 83-72 on Thursday night, marking their seventh consecutive win.
Kimani Hamilton and Kezza Giffa were standout performers for the Panthers, each contributing 18 points to the team’s total. Hamilton also gathered six rebounds, showcasing his all-around skills, while Giffa shot impressively at 7 of 12, including two 3-pointers, and recorded five rebounds as well. D’Maurian Williams added to the scoring effort with 15 points and had a shooting percentage of 58% from the floor, though he made only one of four attempts from beyond the arc.
On the other side, Kyrell Luc was the leading scorer for the Lancers, pouring in 20 points along with four assists and five steals, putting in a commendable effort. Teammate Elijah Tucker contributed 14 points, and Angelo Brizzi followed closely with 13 points and seven rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to secure a victory against the high-flying Panthers.
This latest victory solidifies High Point’s position in the Big South Conference, where they currently hold a record of 10-2 and an overall season record of 22-5. The Panthers continue to build momentum as they push through the latter part of the season.
