EUGENE, Ore. — Jackson Shelstad achieved a personal best by scoring 26 points, leading Oregon to an 81-75 victory against Northwestern, which marked the end of Oregon’s five-game losing streak on Tuesday night.

Keeshawn Barthelemy contributed significantly as well, adding 19 points, while teammate Nate Bittle chipped in with 14 points for the Ducks.

On the opposing team, Ty Berry was impressive with 23 points, hitting 8 of his 10 shots. K.J. Windham and Nick Martinelli also made notable contributions, scoring 20 and 16 points, respectively. Despite their solid performance, Northwestern outperformed Oregon slightly in shooting percentage, recording 51.7% compared to Oregon’s 47.1%.

Windham’s successful three-pointer narrowed the deficit to 64-54 with just 7:30 remaining, and Northwestern continued to press, reducing Oregon’s lead to single digits on several occasions. However, the Ducks sealed their victory by going a perfect 10 for 10 from the free-throw line in the final two and a half minutes, finishing with an impressive overall percentage of 89.3% (25 for 28).

Northwestern briefly took the lead at 14-13 with Windham’s three-pointer at the 11:44 mark before halftime, which turned out to be the Wildcats’ final advantage in the game. Following that, Oregon responded with consecutive three-pointers from Shelstad and Barthelemy, allowing the Ducks to build a commanding lead over the next eight minutes.

Just before halftime, Berry made a three-pointer with 48 seconds left, but that was the only score for Northwestern in the final four and a half minutes of the half, leading to a halftime score of 39-25 in favor of Oregon.

In the first half, the Ducks were efficient, shooting 15 for 30, including a commendable 41.7% (5 for 12) from beyond the arc.

Northwestern now stands at 13-12 with a 4-10 record in conference play and is set to host Nebraska on Sunday. Meanwhile, Oregon, with a season record of 17-8 and 6-8 in conference, will host Rutgers on the same day.
