DEKALB, Ill. — On Tuesday night, Buffalo secured a victory over Northern Illinois with a final score of 73-67, thanks to a standout performance from Tyson Dunn, who scored 22 points in the game.
Dunn also contributed significantly on the boards, grabbing eight rebounds for the Bulls, who now hold an overall record of 8-16 and are 3-8 in the Mid-American Conference. Alongside Dunn, Noah Batchelor made a strong impact, adding 16 points to the tally. Batchelor was particularly effective from beyond the arc, hitting 4 of his 8 attempts, including 3 out of 5 from three-point range, while also hitting all 5 of his free throws and securing nine rebounds. Tim Oboh and Ryan Sabol each chipped in with 11 points.
The Huskies, struggling this season with a record of 5-19 and 1-10 in conference play, saw their leading scorer, Quentin Jones, finish the night with 18 points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Quaran McPherson added 17 points, alongside seven rebounds and three steals for Northern Illinois, and Ethan Butler contributed a solid 12 points along with two blocks.
Buffalo went into halftime with a comfortable lead, outpacing Northern Illinois 32-21. Dunn was instrumental during the first half, netting 10 points. The turning point in the second half occurred when Ryan Sabol’s layup, with just over nine minutes remaining, put Buffalo ahead 47-46 for the rest of the game.
