TORONTO — Brandon Ingram has secured a lucrative contract extension worth $120 million with the Toronto Raptors, even before stepping onto the court for the team.
The forward, who was recently acquired from the New Orleans Pelicans, reached this agreement on Tuesday, just days after the trade was finalized.
Ingram’s representation, Klutch Sports Group, expressed their congratulations to the 2020 All-Star and NBA’s Most Improved Player via a post on social media platform X, acknowledging his three-year extension.
The trade saw the Raptors parting ways with Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, a first-round draft choice in 2026, and a second-round pick in 2031 in exchange for Ingram on February 6.
Despite being sidelined for two months due to a sprained left ankle, the Raptors recognized Ingram’s potential impact on the team without the need for him to take the court.
He was selected as the second overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and has consistently demonstrated his scoring ability, averaging 23 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game, with 20 or more points in each of his six seasons in the league.
Ingram began his career with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played for three seasons before being traded to New Orleans in the deal that brought Anthony Davis to Los Angeles in 2019.
