CALGARY, Alberta — In an exhilarating finish on Saturday night, the Seattle Kraken rallied from a late two-goal deficit to secure a 3-2 overtime win against the Calgary Flames, capped off by a power-play goal from Matty Beniers just 2:58 into extra time.

Shane Wright and Andre Burakovsky also made significant contributions, with Wright finding the net with 6:48 remaining in regulation, followed shortly by Burakovsky, who tied the game just over two minutes later. This match marked the final outing for both squads before the 4 Nations Face-Off break.
Joey Daccord stood strong in goal for Seattle, making 27 saves in what was his 12th start in the last 13 games, improving his record to 19-14-3.

Calgary’s scoring came from Nazem Kadri and Morgan Frost, with Dustin Wolf turning away 25 shots on goal in his attempt to hold off the Kraken’s offensive surge.
Through this game, Flames’ coach Ryan Huska sought to invigorate his team’s attack by realigning the players across all four lines. Notably, he paired Frost with newly acquired Joel Farabee from the Philadelphia Flyers as well as Yegor Sharangovich.

In a crucial moment of the contest, Frost was penalized for holding at 1:41 of overtime, after he engaged in a backcheck against Vince Dunn, which ultimately led to Seattle capitalizing on the power play.
Calgary’s struggle was highlighted by their fourth consecutive home loss, raising concerns about their performance as they look to turn things around.
Looking ahead, the Kraken will face off against Florida on February 22, while the Flames will host the San Jose Sharks on February 23 after the break.
