STANFORD, Calif. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Maxime Raynaud excelled with 25 points and 12 rebounds, marking his 20th double-double of the season—a new school record. Ryan Agarwal scored the crucial basket with just eight seconds remaining, leading Stanford to a narrow 74-73 win over North Carolina State, who sustained their eighth consecutive loss.

With five minutes left on the clock, Raynaud converted two free throws, putting Stanford ahead 65-59. NC State quickly retaliated with Dontrez Styles sinking a three-pointer and Ismael Diouf following up with a layup, tying the game at 71 with only 50 seconds left to play. Aidan Cammann successfully made the first of two free throws for the Cardinal, yet Parker responded swiftly by netting a layup, giving the Wolfpack a fleeting one-point advantage with just 17 seconds left.

Agarwal managed to maneuver through the defense to score the go-ahead point, while Parker’s attempt from beyond the arc to win the game fell short as time ran out.

Raynaud’s performance was especially notable in the second half where he scored 21 points, helping the Cardinal overcome a 33-29 deficit at the break. He shot impressively, making 9 out of 16 field goal attempts and converting all seven of his free throws.

Besides Raynaud’s standout performance, Oziyah Sellers contributed with 12 points, and reserves Chisom Okpara and Evan Stinson each added 10 points for Stanford. Agarwal rounded out the team’s efforts with a solid performance featuring nine points, eight assists, and seven rebounds.

For NC State, Parker was the leading scorer off the bench, hitting five three-pointers for a total of 19 points, along with five assists. Styles added 18 points and seven rebounds, while Marcus Hill contributed 14 points to the effort.

Parker’s exceptional shooting was on display as he went 4-for-4 from three-point range, aiding NC State in building a four-point halftime lead. At the intermission, Sellers had already tallied 10 points for the Cardinal.

The Cardinal’s next game is set for Wednesday, where they will face Georgia Tech. Meanwhile, NC State will take on Louisville at home on the same day.
