POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Dejour Reaves led Iona to a narrow victory over Marist with a remarkable 24-point performance, resulting in a score of 75-71.

Reaves didn’t just shine offensively; he also demonstrated his defensive prowess by grabbing three steals. The Gaels, now with a record of 11-13 overall and 8-5 within the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, also benefited from Adam Njie’s strong showing. Njie tallied 20 points, shooting 7 of 15 from the floor, 1 of 4 from beyond the arc, and a solid 5 of 6 from the free-throw line, while also contributing three steals to his team’s effort. Justin Menard supported the team by adding 10 points.

On the opposing side, Tarik Watson was a key player for the Red Foxes, scoring 16 points and blocking two shots. Marist, currently boasting a record of 16-5 and 9-3 in the conference, saw additional scoring from Josh Pascarelli, who contributed 13 points and five assists, alongside Travis Roberts, who also scored 13 points.
