    CHENEY, Washington — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday, Mason Williams and Tyler Powell each contributed 17 points, guiding Eastern Washington to a narrow 72-67 victory over Portland State.

    In addition to his scoring efforts, Williams also secured six rebounds for the Eagles, improving their overall record to 9-16 and 5-7 in the Big Sky Conference. Elijah Thomas made a meaningful impact as well, adding nine points to the team’s total.

    On the other side of the court, the Vikings, who now stand at 14-10 with a 6-5 conference record, were led by Jaylin Henderson, who scored 19 points and made four steals. Tre-Vaughn Minott had an impressive performance with 16 points, 13 rebounds, three steals, and four blocked shots. Isaiah Johnson also played a significant role for the Vikings, contributing 16 points along with three steals.
