NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In an impressive display of talent, Tyler Lundblade scored 27 points, propelling the Belmont Bruins to an 85-68 win over Missouri State on Saturday evening.
Lundblade was outstanding from distance, making 9 of 15 three-point attempts, contributing significantly to the Bruins’ success. Alongside him, Isaiah Walker showcased his skills with 18 points, shooting 8 for 12 overall. Brigham Rogers also had a strong performance, scoring 13 points on 6 of 8 shooting while recording six steals for the Bruins, who improved to a record of 17-8 overall and 9-5 within the Missouri Valley Conference.
On the other side, the Bears struggled despite some commendable efforts. Jalen Hampton led their scoring with 20 points, along with two steals on the defensive end. Dez White contributed 14 points, five assists, and two blocks, while Vincent Brady II added 13 points and six assists to the mix, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Belmont’s momentum. The Bears fell to a record of 8-17 overall and 1-13 in conference play.
The game saw Belmont enter halftime with only a slight advantage, holding a one-point lead, and Lundblade was instrumental in this effort, having scored 15 points by that time. The pivotal moment came in the second half when Walker’s layup at the 15:11 mark gave Belmont the lead for the last time. From that point forward, the Bruins dominated, outscoring Missouri State by 16 points during the final stretch of the game.
