Thomas scores 18 to lead UNLV past Wyoming 68-57

LARAMIE, Wyo. — Dedan Thomas Jr. led the charge for UNLV with an impressive 18-point performance, guiding the Rebels to a 68-57 victory over Wyoming on Saturday evening.

Thomas managed to hit 6 of 13 shots from the field and was particularly effective from the free-throw line, sinking 5 of 6 attempts. His solid play helped the Rebels, who have struggled recently, improve their record to 12-12 overall and 6-7 within the Mountain West Conference. Meanwhile, Jailen Bedford contributed significantly with 14 points, going 4 for 8 from the floor, including 2 of 5 from beyond the arc, and maintaining a perfect record from the free-throw line at 4 for 4. Jaden Henley also made his mark, scoring 13 points on 5 of 9 shooting, which included one successful 3-pointer.

This victory was a much-needed break for UNLV, as they ended a frustrating five-game losing streak.

For Wyoming, the standout player was Obi Agbim, who topped the scoring charts with 14 points. Cole Henry added to their efforts with 10 points and recorded six assists, while Abou Magassa chipped in with nine points for the Cowboys, who fell to an 11-13 record and hold a 4-9 standing in the conference.
