THIBODAUX, La. — In an impressive display, Michael Gray Jr. contributed significantly to Nicholls State’s victory over East Texas A&M, scoring 20 points in the game that ended with a score of 81-65 on Saturday night.
Alongside Gray, who also secured eight rebounds, the Colonels (15-9, 9-4 Southland Conference) saw notable performances from Sincere Malone, who netted 14 points while shooting 7 of 11 from the field and grabbing five rebounds. Additionally, Robert Brown III added another 14 points to the scoreboard, going 5 of 13 from the field, including 2 of 7 from beyond the arc.
On the other side, Scooter Williams Jr. shone for the Lions (3-21, 1-12), leading his team with 22 points and providing six assists. KC Ugwuakazi also had a commendable performance with 15 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks to support East Texas A&M.
Looking ahead, both teams are scheduled to play again on Monday. Nicholls State will face Northwestern State while East Texas A&M heads on the road to play McNeese.
