Connor Joe is returning to his roots, having officially signed a one-year contract with the San Diego Padres.
In the previous season, Joe posted a batting average of .228, alongside nine home runs and 36 runs batted in while playing 123 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
A native of San Diego, he played collegiate baseball at the University of San Diego, further adding to the local connection with the team.
At 32 years old, Joe has experience playing at various positions, including first base, right field, and left field.
The Padres made the announcement regarding his signing on Saturday, marking a new chapter in his career.
Throughout his time in the major leagues, Joe has accumulated a career batting average of .242, hitting a total of 35 home runs and driving in 141 runs across 438 games.
Before joining the Padres, he also played for the San Francisco Giants and the Colorado Rockies, having made his major league debut with the Giants back in 2019.
