MARTIN, Tenn. — In a nail-biting finish on Thursday evening, Lindenwood edged out UT Martin with a final score of 52-51, thanks in large part to Clayton Jackson’s 16-point performance and a clutch four-point play by Reggie Bass in the waning moments of the game.
With only 16 seconds left on the clock, Bass put the finishing touches on the victory, leaving UT Martin to attempt two last-minute three-point shots that ultimately fell short.
Jackson demonstrated skillful shooting, making 6 of his 12 attempts, which included 3 successful three-pointers out of 8 tries. The Lions improved their record to 11 wins and 13 losses, with a conference standing of 6 wins and 7 losses within the Ohio Valley Conference. Additionally, Jadis Jones contributed significantly with 11 points, shooting 2 of 7 from the field, while also going 7 of 9 from the free-throw line and securing 11 rebounds. Markeith Browning II added eight points with a field goal percentage of 27.3%, sinking 3 of 11 attempts including just 1 out of 5 from behind the arc.
On the other side, Tarence Guinyard led the Skyhawks with an 11-point effort. Lamine Niang also had a noteworthy game with nine points, as well as pulling down 11 rebounds and blocking five shots.
