The voting results for the 2024 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year have been compiled from a nationwide media panel. The voting was based on a point system awarding 10 points for first-place votes, 5 points for second-place, 3 for third, 2 for fourth, and 1 for fifth.

Jared Verse from the Los Angeles Rams topped the list with 427 points. His performance earned him 37 first-place votes, alongside 10 second-place votes and a couple of others, solidifying his status as the frontrunner. Quinyon Mitchell of the Philadelphia Eagles followed in a distant second place, accumulating 239 points from 9 first-place votes, 23 second-place votes, and additional support in lower rankings.

Braden Fiske, also of the Los Angeles Rams, was in the third position with a total of 96 points, gaining a spread of votes that included several third and fourth-place nods. Close behind him was Cooper DeJean from the Philadelphia Eagles, with 91 points, showing significant support across various voting placements.

Chop Robinson from Miami round out the top five candidates with a total of 75 points. Other contenders included Edgerrin Cooper of Green Bay and Tarheeb Still of the Los Angeles Chargers, who managed to gather 30 and 27 points respectively. Meanwhile, Calen Bullock from Houston and Mike Sainristil of Washington garnered 17 and 14 points accordingly.

Lastly, a few others received lesser but notable mentions: Kamari Lassiter and Nate Wiggins attracted sparse support as did T’Vondre Sweat and Laiatu Latu, whose names were noted in the voting but with fewer points. Rounding out the list were Malik Mustapha from San Francisco, Terrion Arnold from Detroit, and Tykee Smith from Tampa Bay, each receiving a minimal share of votes.

This voting outcome showcases the promising talent emerging within the NFL’s defensive ranks as they enter their professional careers. Each nominee reflects the depth and competitive spirit present in the league’s rookie defensive lineup for the upcoming season.
