ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — In a commanding performance, New Mexico triumphed over Colorado State with a score of 87-65 on Wednesday night, thanks in large part to Donovan Dent and substitute CJ Noland, who both contributed 19 points to the victory.
Dent also recorded six rebounds, showcasing his all-around gameplay for the Lobos, who now hold an impressive record of 19 wins and 4 losses, with a notable 11-1 standing in the Mountain West Conference. Noland had a perfect shooting night, going 7 for 7 from the field, which included three successful three-point attempts. Nelly Joseph also made significant contributions, scoring 18 points after hitting four out of nine attempts from the field and converting 10 out of 13 free-throw attempts.
On the other side of the court, the Rams, currently holding a record of 14-8 and 8-3 in the conference, were led by Rashaan Mbemba, who netted 17 points. Kyan Evans also made a solid impact by adding 15 points to the scoreboard. Nique Clifford rounded out the notable performances with nine points, ten rebounds, and five assists, contributing to his team’s overall effort.
Looking ahead, both teams are scheduled to compete again on Saturday. New Mexico will head to Air Force, while Colorado State will play at home against San Diego State.
