RICHMOND, Va. — In a much-needed turnaround, the Richmond Spiders secured a 73-68 win against the Duquesne Dukes on Wednesday night, snapping a seven-game losing streak.
Jason Roche led the charge for the Spiders, contributing 14 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Dusan Neskovic also had a notable performance, scoring 13 points with an efficient outing that included three field goals, one of which was a three-pointer, as well as six successful free throws.
For Duquesne, Maximus Edwards was the standout player, netting 21 points and collecting two steals. Tre Dinkins added to the Dukes’ efforts with 17 points, while Kareem Rozier rounded off the scoring with 10 points and five steals.
Richmond had a strong first half, ending with a 33-27 lead at the break. They extended their advantage in the second half, starting with a 7-0 run to push the score to 43-30.
Both teams will be back in action on Saturday, with Richmond set to visit Davidson and Duquesne preparing to host Loyola Chicago.
