Fordham University triumphed over Rhode Island in a closely contested game on Wednesday night, finishing with a score of 80-79. Jackie Johnson III was a standout player, contributing 25 points to the Rams’ victory in this Atlantic 10 Conference matchup.
In addition to his scoring, Johnson recorded three steals, further solidifying his impact on the game for Fordham, which now holds a record of 11 wins and 12 losses, and 3 wins and 7 losses in conference play. Josh Rivera supported the team’s effort with 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Japhet Medor contributed 17 points, making 4 out of 11 shots from the field, including 2 of 6 from beyond the arc. Medor was also efficient at the free-throw line, converting 7 of his 8 attempts.
On the other side, Sebastian Thomas was a key performer for the Rams, finishing with 20 points, along with seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals.
