EASTON, Pa. — In a competitive matchup on Wednesday evening, Loyola (Md.) emerged victorious over Lafayette with a final score of 71-58, largely thanks to Milos Ilic, who contributed 17 points and secured 13 rebounds for the Greyhounds.
In addition to Ilic’s strong performance, Tyson Commander scored 16 points, shooting an impressive 7 of 10, including two successful attempts from beyond the arc. He also took care of business on the boards with six rebounds. Jordan Stiemke also made significant contributions, finishing the game with 10 points on 4 of 8 shooting from the field, which included 2 out of 4 from three-point range.
On the other side of the court, Mark Butler led the Leopards with 12 points, while Caleb Williams and Andrew Phillips each added 11 points to the scoreline, with Williams also pulling down seven rebounds and Phillips contributing two steals.
Loyola managed to establish an early lead, with Commander leading the team with 10 points in the first half, allowing the Greyhounds to go into halftime with a 34-28 advantage. The second half saw Jacob Theodosiou standout with a team-high of eight points, helping maintain and extend Loyola’s lead as they rolled to victory.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to compete again on Saturday. Loyola will travel to face Colgate, while Lafayette will take on Navy in a home game.
