In Spartanburg, South Carolina, the Chattanooga Mocs secured a 79-70 victory over the Wofford Terriers on Wednesday evening.
Frank Champion was a standout for Chattanooga, contributing significantly with 20 points while also grabbing six rebounds and recording three blocks.
His performance helped the Mocs improve their record to 16-8 overall and 8-3 in the Southern Conference.
Bash Wieland also made a vital impact, scoring 15 points with an impressive shooting display—going 5 for 8 from the field, including 1 for 3 from beyond the arc, and perfect at the free-throw line with 4 for 4.
He complemented his scoring with five rebounds. Honor Huff added to the offensive effort with 14 points, shooting 3 for 8 from the field and also maintaining a perfect free-throw percentage at 5 for 5, while hitting 3 of 7 from three-point range.
For Wofford, Corey Tripp led the team with an equal scoring output of 20 points, while Dillon Bailey contributed another 13 points to the Terriers’ tally.
This loss brought Wofford’s record to 12-12 overall and 6-5 in the conference.
Looking ahead, both teams will return to the court this Saturday. Chattanooga will be facing Furman in their next matchup, while Wofford will be on the road against Mercer.
