LAS VEGAS — In a competitive display of basketball, Tyson Degenhart played a pivotal role for Boise State as they secured a 71-62 victory against UNLV on Tuesday evening.
Degenhart not only scored 16 points but also recorded seven rebounds and blocked three shots, contributing significantly to his team’s effort. The Broncos improved their record to 16 wins and 7 losses, holding an 8-4 standing in the Mountain West Conference.
Andrew Meadow was another key performer for Boise State, tallied 14 points with an efficient performance from the free-throw line, where he was perfect at 8 for 8. Despite shooting 3 of 7 from the field, Meadow struggled beyond the arc, missing all three of his three-point attempts. Alvaro Cardenas added 13 points with a shooting record of 5 of 13, including 2 for 8 from the three-point range.
On the opposing side, Dedan Thomas Jr. led UNLV with 20 points, showcasing his offensive skills. His teammates Jeremiah Cherry and Jailen Bedford added 19 and 11 points respectively, with Bedford also contributing six rebounds to the cause.
Degenhart’s performance was crucial in the first half as he netted 10 points, helping Boise State maintain a narrow 33-29 lead at halftime. The Broncos then intensified their efforts after the break, initiating a 9-0 run that expanded their lead to 42-29.
Looking ahead, Boise State will prepare for a home game against San Jose State on Friday, while UNLV will travel to Wyoming for a matchup scheduled on Saturday.
