THIBODAUX, La. — Michael Gray Jr. excelled on the court by scoring 25 points, which marked a personal best for him, as Nicholls secured a 75-67 win against Houston Christian on Monday evening.
Gray had an impressive shooting performance, going 9 out of 14 from the field, and he demonstrated his skill from three-point range by hitting 5 of 10 attempts. The Colonels now stand at 14 wins and 9 losses, with a conference record of 8-4 in the Southland Conference. Jamal West contributed significantly to the team with a double-double, tallying 14 points along with 13 rebounds, while Robert Brown III added another 13 points to the scoreboard.
For the Huskies, who currently hold a record of 10 wins against 13 losses and a conference record of 7-5, Bryson Dawkins was the standout performer, scoring 21 points and grabbing six rebounds. Additionally, Julian Mackey chipped in 11 points, and Elijah Brooks contributed with 10 points of his own as the team fought hard but ultimately fell short.
