NEW YORK — OG Anunoby is set to miss the upcoming match against the Houston Rockets on Monday night, marking his first absence this season due to a sprained right foot.

The Knicks initially had Anunoby listed as questionable before ultimately ruling him out on Monday.

The injury occurred during the game on Saturday, where the Knicks suffered a 128-112 defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers. Anunoby sustained the injury while trying to control the ball near the left sideline under the defense of LeBron James. He was seen going to one knee, appearing to be in pain while clutching at his lower right leg. After some time, he managed to stand up and walk towards the locker room area.

Following the game, Coach Tom Thibodeau confirmed that X-rays taken on Anunoby’s foot returned negative results.

Throughout the season so far, Anunoby has been a key player for the Knicks, starting all 49 games and contributing an average of 16.4 points per game.
