ANAHEIM, Calif. — In an exciting turn of events, Alex Killorn netted the decisive goal with 8:49 remaining in the match, leading the Anaheim Ducks to a comeback victory over the Montreal Canadiens, finishing at 3-2 on Sunday evening.
The Ducks displayed remarkable resilience, overcoming a two-goal deficit thanks to goals from Mason McTavish and Frank Vatrano, who both found the net just 40 seconds apart during the second period. Killorn not only contributed a goal but also assisted, while goalie Lukas Dostal made a solid 21 saves to secure the win.
The Canadiens opened the scoring with Joel Armia’s short-handed goal, followed closely by Christian Dvorak, who added a power-play goal in the first period. Unfortunately for Montreal, this marks their fifth consecutive loss. Goaltender Sam Montembeault had a challenging evening, stopping 19 shots during the first game of their three-game swing through California.
