TEANECK, N.J. — On Saturday, Mercyhurst earned a hard-fought 67-60 win over Fairleigh Dickinson, with Jeff Planutis leading the charge by scoring 17 points.
Planutis demonstrated his shooting prowess, making 6 out of 10 attempts from the field, including 2 out of 3 from beyond the arc, and converting all three of his free throws. The Lakers improved their season record to 12 wins and 13 losses, with a conference record of 6 wins and 4 losses in the Northeast Conference.
Aidan Reichert contributed significantly to the victory as well, scoring 14 points on 5 of 9 shooting, which included hitting 2 of 4 from three-point range, although he struggled at the free-throw line, making only 2 of 6 attempts. Jake Lemelman also played a key role, finishing the game with 10 points, shooting 2 of 4 from the field, and perfecting 5 out of 5 from the free-throw line.
On the other side, Fairleigh Dickinson’s Terrence Brown led his team with a solid performance, scoring 19 points and collecting three steals. Additionally, Brayden Reynolds chipped in with 11 points, while Jo’el Emanuel managed to secure 10 points, alongside eight rebounds and two steals.
