HAMILTON, N.Y. — In a compelling matchup on Saturday, Lafayette triumphed over Colgate with a final score of 76-61, thanks in large part to Caleb Williams’ significant contribution of 20 points.

Williams displayed his versatility by also securing nine rebounds, aiding the Leopards, who now hold a record of 9-14 overall and 4-6 within the Patriot League. Alex Chaikin was another key player, scoring 18 points while shooting 6 of 11 from the floor, which included one successful 3-pointer out of five attempts. He also made a clean sweep at the free-throw line, going 5 for 5. Mark Butler added to the Leopards’ total with an efficient performance, scoring 13 points from his 5 of 7 shooting, as well as 3 of 4 from the free-throw line.

On the other side, the Raiders, who now have a record of 9-14 and 6-4 in the league, were led by Jeff Woodward, who contributed 11 points. Josh Ahayere also matched that total, each offering their efforts for Colgate. Additionally, Nicolas Louis-Jacques chipped in with nine points and recorded two steals during the game.

Looking ahead, Lafayette will be gearing up for their next home game on Wednesday against Loyola (MD). Meanwhile, Colgate is set to travel for an encounter against Lehigh on Monday.
