CALGARY, Alberta — On Thursday night, the Calgary Flames completed a trade which saw left wingers Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier move to the Philadelphia Flyers. In exchange, the Flames received center Morgan Frost along with left winger Joel Farabee.
Additionally, Calgary included a 2025 second-round draft pick and a seventh-round pick for 2028 as part of the deal.
Kuzmenko, who is 28 years old, did not participate in the Flames’ lineup on Thursday and was noticably absent from the game, while Pelletier, aged 23, had his playing time cut short after just one period during a 4-1 win against the Anaheim Ducks.
The Flyers’ Frost, at 25 years old, played up until the halfway mark of a 3-0 defeat to the New York Islanders. Drafted 27th overall in 2017, Frost stands at 6 feet and weighs 193 pounds. Thus far, he has accumulated 11 goals and 14 assists over 49 games this season.
On the other hand, Farabee, who is 24 years old, was selected 14th overall in the 2018 draft by the Flyers. The 6-foot, 186-pound left winger has registered eight goals and 11 assists across 50 games this season.
This trade marks Kuzmenko’s second transfer in just over a year, as he was moved to the Flames from the Vancouver Canucks. In this current season, he has tallied four goals and 11 assists in 37 games, and he had previously been a healthy scratch in early January.
Pelletier has contributed four goals and seven assists in 23 games for Calgary during the campaign.
