In a thrilling double-overtime game, Monmouth University emerged victorious against Drexel, winning 104-97 thanks largely to the outstanding performances of Madison Durr and Abdi Bashir Jr. Durr showcased an impressive scoring ability, tallying 40 points while achieving an incredible shooting percentage of 10 out of 11 from the field. Additionally, he successfully converted 19 consecutive free throws during the match.
Bashir also had a remarkable night, contributing 32 points, including eight 3-pointers, while struggling from the field at times with a shooting mark of 10 for 33. Nevertheless, he remained perfect from the free-throw line, converting all four attempts. Jack Collins supported the team with a solid performance, scoring 13 points on 4 of 7 shooting, including 2 of 5 from beyond the arc and converting 3 of 4 free throws.
For the Dragons, Yame Butler was a key player, ending the game with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. He was joined by Villiam Garcia Adsten, who also scored 17 points, and Jason Drake contributed 16 points along with two steals.
