Javon Jackson was the standout player on Wednesday night, scoring 25 points as the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) triumphantly defeated Bradley with a score of 93-70.
Jackson also showcased his defensive skills by making five steals, further solidifying his impact on the game for the Flames, who have a record of 15 wins and 7 losses, with 7 wins and 4 losses in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Alongside Jackson, Jordan Mason contributed significantly with 22 points, while also grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out seven assists.
Ahmad Henderson II added to the Flames’ offensive effort with 17 points, shooting 5 for 12 from the field, including 3 for 6 from beyond the arc, and making all four of his free-throw attempts.
On the other side of the court, Zek Montgomery led the scoring for the Braves with 16 points.
Darius Hannah closely followed him with 14 points, while Christian Davis registered a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Unfortunately for Bradley, this loss halted their impressive five-game winning streak and dropped their record to 18 wins and 4 losses, alongside a 9-2 mark in their conference play.
The Flames took control of the game with 8:53 left in the first half and maintained their lead for the remainder of the match.
Mason recorded a commendable 14 points in the first half, enabling UIC to secure a comfortable 55-39 advantage by halftime.
As the second half unfolded, UIC stretched their lead to 88-65, highlighted by a significant 15-2 scoring run.
Jackson continued his strong performance, leading his team with 14 points in the final period.
Looking ahead, UIC is set to face Indiana State in a home game on Saturday, while Bradley will play against Northern Iowa on Sunday.
