WICHITA, Kan. — In a thrilling matchup, North Texas triumphed over Wichita State with a final score of 58-54 on Wednesday evening, marking their sixth consecutive victory.

Moulaye Sissoko played a pivotal role for the Mean Green, contributing 16 points and securing six rebounds. His performance was complemented by Atin Wright, who scored 15 points and demonstrated solid shooting with 5 of 12 field goals, including 2 of 5 from beyond the arc. Wright also successfully made all three of his free-throw attempts and matched Sissoko’s rebounding numbers with six boards. Brenen Lorient added eight points to the team’s efforts, also gathering six rebounds, despite hitting only 3 of 10 attempts from the field.

The Shockers had their scoring led by Xavier Bell, who totaled 19 points and made two steals during the tense contest. Meanwhile, Corey Washington chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds, while Justin Hill contributed 10 points along with four assists and two steals.

North Texas entered halftime with a slight lead of 30-24, largely thanks to Sissoko’s impressive first-half performance, where he scored 12 points. The game swung in favor of North Texas when Wright nailed a crucial three-pointer with just over five minutes left in the second half, giving them a decisive lead at 52-50.

Looking ahead, North Texas will face UTSA in their next matchup scheduled for Saturday at home. On the other hand, Wichita State is set to visit Charlotte next Tuesday.
