Maxey nets 30 points, leading 76ers to a 117-104 win over Kings for their fourth consecutive triumph

Tyrese Maxey had an impressive night, putting up 30 points to guide the Philadelphia 76ers to a 117-104 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. This win marked the 76ers’ fourth consecutive triumph, demonstrating their effective recovery after a challenging stretch of seven consecutive losses. In addition to his scoring prowess, Maxey also contributed eight assists to his team’s efforts and extended his streak to 12 games, scoring 25 or more points in each.

Other notable performances for the 76ers included Kelly Oubre Jr., who added 15 points, while Eric Gordon chipped in 14 points and Ricky Council IV helped out with 13. The 76ers showcased a strong performance from their bench, who collectively scored 37 points, despite facing injury challenges throughout the season. Council was particularly impactful, leading the reserves with 13 points, while Kyle Lowry supported the effort with 10 points and eight assists.

On the Kings’ side, Malik Monk had a solid performance, scoring 21 points, with 16 of those coming in the first half. Domantas Sabonis also achieved a notable milestone, recording his second consecutive triple-double and eighth of the season, finishing with 13 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists. De’Aaron Fox, playing in his first game since reports indicated the Kings might consider trading him, contributed 19 points to the team’s efforts.

A pivotal moment occurred late in the third quarter when DeMar DeRozan committed a flagrant foul on Council, leading to two free throws from Council and a subsequent 3-pointer from Reggie Jackson. This five-point possession fueled a 14-2 run that allowed the 76ers to establish a lead they would not relinquish.

The 76ers’ current four-game winning streak ties their season record, which also included a prior streak that ended on January 1 against the Kings in a close 113-107 defeat, where they surrendered the last 15 points of that game.

Looking ahead, the Kings will face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, while the 76ers will continue their homestand by going against the Denver Nuggets on Friday night.
