Battle contributes 23 points from the bench as Gonzaga defeats Oregon State 98-60

SPOKANE, Wash. — In a dominant performance, Khalif Battle scored 23 points off the bench to propel Gonzaga to a resounding 98-60 victory over Oregon State on Tuesday night.

Battle not only showcased his scoring ability but also contributed three steals, helping the Bulldogs improve to a 16-6 overall record and 7-2 in the West Coast Conference. Graham Ike was another standout, tallying 22 points with impressive shooting stats of 10 for 12 from the field and 2 for 3 from the free-throw line, in addition to grabbing seven rebounds. Nolan Hickman also had a notable performance, finishing the game with 16 points by going 5 of 10 from the field and 4 for 6 from beyond the arc.

Oregon State, now at 16-7 and 6-4 in conference play, saw Michael Rataj as their top scorer, ending the night with 15 points. Nate Kingz contributed 11 points along with two blocks, and Maxim Logue chipped in with 10 points.

Gonzaga seized control early in the game, taking the lead just over three minutes in and never looking back. In the first half, Battle was particularly influential, leading the team with 19 points and helping the Bulldogs secure a 50-30 advantage at halftime. Gonzaga continued to dominate in the second half, extending their lead to 80-46, thanks to an 8-0 scoring run. Hickman added another team-high of 14 points in the second half as the Bulldogs wrapped up the game decisively.

This matchup came on the heels of Oregon State’s previous victory over Gonzaga, where they triumphed 97-89 in overtime at home on January 16.
