SEATTLE — In an exciting matchup on Tuesday night, the Anaheim Ducks emerged victorious over the Seattle Kraken with a 6-4 scoreline. Mason McTavish played a pivotal role in the game, scoring the equalizer early in the second period and providing an assist on Robby Fabbri’s goal that put the Ducks ahead just a few minutes later.
The Ducks showed a strong offensive performance with contributions from Troy Terry, Cutter Gauthier, Jackson LaCombe, and Frank Vatrano, all of whom found the back of the net. This victory marked Anaheim’s third consecutive win, a significant turnaround after struggling with only one victory in their previous eight games. McTavish, Fabbri, LaCombe, and Vatrano each finished the night with a goal and an assist, while Ryan Strome added two assists. In goal, Lukas Dostal made a solid contribution, stopping 26 shots from the Kraken.
On the other side, Seattle’s efforts included goals from Eeli Tolvanen, Mitchell Stephens, Jaden Schwartz, and Shane Wright. The Kraken’s goaltender, Philipp Grubauer, faced 23 shots, blocking 17 of them.
The Ducks kicked off the scoring with Terry’s goal just 1:23 into the game, but Seattle quickly countered with goals from Tolvanen and Stephens, giving them a brief 2-1 lead. Gauthier responded to tie the game, and Schwartz pushed Seattle ahead again with his impressive 17th goal of the season late in the first period.
Despite Wright narrowing the deficit to 5-4 with a power-play goal early in the final period, Vatrano secured the win for Anaheim with an empty-net goal with just over a minute remaining. This was a noteworthy moment, as it effectively quashed Seattle’s hopes of a late-game comeback.
A key takeaway for the Ducks is their remarkable scoring ability, as they have now netted at least five goals in three consecutive games. In contrast, this loss marked an end to the Kraken’s impressive streak of 11 consecutive wins in games where they scored four or more goals.
The game was marked by Seattle outshooting Anaheim 30-23; however, the Kraken were unable to capitalize on their opportunities.
Looking ahead, the Ducks are set to visit Calgary on Thursday, while the Kraken will host San Jose on the same night.
