NEWARK, N.J. — In an exciting matchup on Tuesday night, Jayden Pierre led the Providence Friars to a narrow 69-67 victory over Seton Hall, scoring a total of 16 points.
Pierre had an impressive shooting performance, connecting on 6 of 9 attempts from the field and hitting 3 of 5 from three-point range, contributing vital points for the Friars, who now hold an overall record of 11-10 and 5-5 within the Big East Conference.
Meanwhile, Jabri Abdur-Rahim also made his mark with 13 points, successfully shooting 4 out of 7 attempts, including 3 for 5 from beyond the arc. Bensley Joseph wrapped up the scoring for Providence with 12 points, showcasing his shooting skills by hitting 3 of 5 shots and ensuring a perfect performance from the free-throw line, going 4 for 4.
On the other side, the Pirates struggled to secure the win despite a strong showing from Prince Aligbe, who led the team with 19 points and contributed defensively with two steals. Abdur-Rahim was instrumental during this stretch, tallying another 10 points in the second half to solidify Providence’s position.
