TULSA, Okla. — In a thrilling matchup on Sunday, Jared Garcia played a pivotal role in securing an 84-77 win for the Golden Hurricane over Wichita State by contributing 22 points from the bench.

Garcia exhibited an impressive shooting performance, hitting six of his ten attempts from the floor, including five out of six from beyond the arc, as well as converting five of six free throws. This victory improved Tulsa’s record to 9-11 overall and 3-4 in the American Athletic Conference. Dwon Odom also made a significant contribution, finishing the game with 17 points on eight-for-ten shooting, while also securing nine rebounds, delivering ten assists, and recording three blocks. Additionally, Keaston Willis added another 17 points, managing to shoot five for eight from the three-point line.

For the Shockers, Xavier Bell was the standout performer, leading his team with 19 points and two steals. Justin Hill also played a crucial role by contributing 18 points, while Harlond Beverly added 11 points along with six assists and three steals.

The game took a decisive turn when Tulsa managed to take control late in the first half, establishing a lead that they maintained for the remainder of the game. At halftime, the scoreboard read 42-41 in favor of Tulsa, with Odom having amassed 13 points by that point. In the second half, Tulsa outperformed Wichita State by a margin of six points, with Garcia emerging as the leading scorer in that half, netting 13 points.
