LUBBOCK, Texas — In a competitive matchup, Chance McMillian contributed 14 points, guiding Texas Tech to a 64-54 victory over Oklahoma State on Sunday.
Federiko Federiko also made a significant impact with eight points, eight rebounds, and two blocks for the Red Raiders. With this win, Texas Tech improved to a record of 15-4, 6-2 in the Big 12, marking their fourth consecutive win and their sixth victory in the last seven outings.

Bryce Thompson stood out for Oklahoma State, leading his team with 17 points, continuing his streak of scoring at least 15 points for the eighth game in a row. Teammates Arturo Dean and Abou Ousmane contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively, with Ousmane also achieving his second double-double of the season by securing 10 rebounds.

The game saw Thompson scoring the first six points and Dean adding nine during a 16-1 run that narrowed Oklahoma State’s deficit to just three points at 52-49 with five minutes remaining. However, McMillian quickly responded with a jumper—the first points of the second half for him—and Kevin Overton followed with a three-point shot, extending the lead to 59-51 with just over two minutes left, maintaining at least a two-possession gap for the remainder of the game.

Midway through the second half, Texas Tech’s Darrion Williams appeared to suffer an ankle injury and was seen limping off the court to the locker room around seven minutes left; he did not return to the game.

In the first half, McMillian’s rapid two three-pointers and another pair from Kerwin Walton helped the Red Raiders to a strong 12-4 lead early on. As the first half progressed, Pat Suemnick and Thompson combined for back-to-back baskets, reducing the Oklahoma State deficit to just one point with six minutes left before halftime. Texas Tech finished the half strong, scoring 13 of the final 17 points to lead 37-27 at the break, with McMillian having a standout first half of 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Next, Oklahoma State will hit the road to face Kansas State on Wednesday, while Texas Tech will host TCU on the same day.
