WILMINGTON, N.C. — Khamari McGriff was instrumental in UNC Wilmington’s victory over Hampton, contributing 19 points from the bench as the Seahawks secured an 83-62 win on Saturday evening.

McGriff showcased his shooting skills, going 8 of 12 from the field and making 3 out of 4 free throws. His strong performance helped advance the Seahawks’ record to 16 wins and 5 losses, with a 6-2 standing in the Coastal Athletic Association. Not far behind were Harlan Obioha, who added 14 points along with six rebounds, and Noah Ross, who impressively nailed all three of his 3-point attempts to finish with 12 points.

Hampton’s top scorer, Noah Farrakhan, managed to put up 15 points for the Pirates, while Daniel Johnson contributed 10 points. Wayne Bristol Jr. also gave a solid effort, scoring nine points for his team.

The Seahawks took control of the game with 9:25 left in the first half, a lead they maintained throughout. At halftime, the score stood at 39-28, thanks in part to McGriff’s 11 points during the first half.
