In a Saturday night clash, Dionjahe Thomas played a key role in Southern University’s 83-67 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Thomas scored 19 points and recorded nine rebounds, contributing significantly to the Jaguars’ success, which improved their record to 11-8 and kept them undefeated at 6-0 in conference play.
Michael Jacobs supported the team with 15 points; despite struggling with his shooting, making just 3 out of 10 attempts, he excelled at the free-throw line, hitting 9 of 11 shots and grabbing five rebounds.
Jordan Johnson also added to the scoreboard with 15 points, displaying good accuracy by nailing 5 of 9 field goal attempts, including three 3-pointers from six tries.
This victory marks the Jaguars’ sixth consecutive win, showcasing their strong performance in the league.
On the opposing side, the Golden Lions, who dropped to 3-16 and 0-6 in conference action, were led by Doctor Bradley, who delivered a solid performance with 13 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
Quentin Bolton Jr. contributed 11 points along with three steals, while Dante Sawyer matched his score with another 11 points.
Unfortunately for the Golden Lions, this loss extends their losing streak to six games, highlighting ongoing challenges for the team as they continue to seek a turnaround in their season.
