SAN ANTONIO — The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) secured a victory against Temple with a score of 88-79 on Saturday evening, largely thanks to the outstanding performance of Raekwon Horton, who recorded 20 points in the game.
Horton was efficient, hitting 6 of his 11 attempts from the field, including 2 out of 4 from beyond the arc. He also excelled at the free-throw line, making 6 of 7 attempts. The Roadrunners now hold a record of 9-10 overall and 3-4 within the American Athletic Conference.
Also contributing to the team’s success was Primo Spears, who matched Horton’s scoring with 20 points, shooting 6 for 15 from the floor, including 4 for 10 from three-point range, and making all four of his free-throw attempts. Marcus Millender added to the tally with 18 points, shooting 6 of 9 from the field, along with a perfect 4 for 4 at the free-throw line, while also providing six assists.
For the Owls, Jamal Mashburn Jr. led the scoring with 20 points. Steve Settle also made a notable contribution, scoring 18 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Zion Stanford chipped in with 17 points, offering seven rebounds and four assists as well.
A pivotal moment in the game occurred when UTSA embarked on a significant 10-0 run, building an 11-point lead at 58-47 shortly after the start of the second half, which helped secure their victory.
