FARMVILLE, Va. — In an impressive showing, Michael Christmas led the Longwood Lancers to an 80-54 win against South Carolina Upstate on Saturday, contributing 17 points to the victory.
Christmas demonstrated a solid performance on the court, going 6 for 12 in field goals, including 3 for 8 from beyond the arc, and he made good on 2 of his 3 free throw attempts.
His efforts helped propel the Lancers’ record to 16-6 overall and 5-2 in the Big South Conference.
Kyrell Luc also shone in the contest, netting 15 points while achieving an impressive shooting percentage of 4 for 5 from the field and 6 for 7 from the charity stripe.
Additionally, he contributed defensively with four steals.
Another notable performer for Longwood was Colby Garland, who added 12 points and shot 4 of 6 in field goal attempts.
On the other side, the South Carolina Upstate Spartans, now with a 5-17 record and 1-6 in conference play, were led by Andrew McConnell, who scored 12 points, grabbed six rebounds, and made two steals.
Karmani Gregory also contributed to the Spartans’ efforts with 11 points.
Overall, it was a strong performance by the Lancers as they dominated the game.
