TUCSON, Ariz. — Anthony Dell’Orso was a standout player for Arizona, scoring 20 points, aided by six successful three-point shots. Additionally, KJ Lewis contributed 12 points off the bench, helping the Wildcats to achieve a solid 78-63 victory against Colorado on Saturday.

Caleb Love made an impact with 10 points, while Tobe Awaka was a force on the boards, collecting 15 rebounds, seven of which were offensive. With this victory, Arizona improved its record to 13-6 overall and 7-1 in the Big 12, marking an impressive streak with nine wins in their last ten games. The Wildcats’ shooting percentage was 46.9%, connecting on 30 out of 64 attempts.

For Colorado, Julian Hammond III led the scoring with 19 points, while teammates Javon Ruffin and Andrej Jakimovski added 12 and 10 points respectively. The Buffaloes, now at 9-10 and still searching for their first Big 12 win with an 0-8 record, have struggled historically against the Wildcats, particularly at the McKale Center, where they have never registered a win and last succeeded in Tucson back in 1965.

The contest was close at halftime with Arizona holding a narrow 33-31 lead. The Wildcats started the second half strong, launching a 7-2 run. However, Colorado quickly fought back, responding with a 7-0 streak that tied the game at 40 following an Elijah Malone jump shot with 14:43 remaining. Nevertheless, Dell’Orso answered with a three-pointer, allowing Arizona to gradually gain control. With a layup from Lewis at 6:29 left, Arizona secured its first double-digit lead of the game at 62-51.

Next, Colorado will face off against Arizona State on Tuesday, while Arizona is set to host the third-ranked Iowa State on Monday.
