Hamilton’s 14 points lead High Point to victory over Winthrop 84-62

HIGH POINT, N.C. — In an impressive performance, Kimani Hamilton contributed 14 points to lead High Point in their 84-62 victory over Winthrop on Saturday.
Hamilton displayed a solid shooting performance, making 5 of 9 attempts from the field and completing all three of his free-throw attempts, helping the Panthers improve to 18-5 overall and 6-2 in the Big South Conference.
Kezza Giffa also made an impact, scoring 14 points with a shooting line of 5 of 8 and 4 of 7 from the charity stripe, along with providing five assists. Additionally, D’Maurian Williams added 13 points, shooting 5 for 10, with his performance including one successful three-pointer out of five attempts from long range.
The Eagles, now 13-9 and 3-4 in the conference, had their scoring led by Kasen Harrison, who also reached the 14-point mark. Kelton Talford contributed with 13 points while also collecting six rebounds for Winthrop. Nick Johnson rounded out the Eagles’ scoring with a total of 10 points.
Looking ahead, both teams set their sights on Presbyterian; High Point will travel for their matchup on Saturday while Winthrop prepares to host them at home on Wednesday.
