BURLINGTON, Vt. — In an impressive display of skill, Bryce Johnson led the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) to an 80-63 win over the University of Vermont on Saturday, scoring a total of 26 points.
Johnson’s shooting was notably effective, hitting 8 of his 13 attempts from the field, which included 3 of 6 from beyond the three-point line, in addition to sinking 7 of 8 free throws. This victory improved the Retrievers’ record to 11 wins and 10 losses, marking their third win within the America East Conference at 3-3.

Alongside Johnson, Josh Odunowo made significant contributions to the team, scoring 19 points thanks to an impressive 9 of 11 shooting performance from the floor. He also secured 10 rebounds and recorded four steals, showcasing his all-around gameplay. Marcus Banks further supported the team with 14 points, shooting 5 of 12 while nailing two of eight attempts from three-point range.

On the other side, the Vermont Catamounts struggled to keep pace with UMBC’s scoring. Ileri Ayo-Faleye was a standout for the Catamounts, netting 14 points and blocking two shots. Both Sam Alamutu and Nick Fiorillo also made their mark on the game, with Alamutu contributing 12 points along with seven rebounds, while Fiorillo added 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds of his own.
