Washington scores 19 to guide CSU Northridge to an 86-76 victory against Long Beach State

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.
— In an exciting matchup on Thursday, CSU Northridge secured an 86-76 victory against Long Beach State, with Scotty Washington leading the way by scoring 19 points.
Washington’s performance included shooting 7 for 14 from the field, hitting 1 of his 5 attempts from beyond the arc, and successfully sinking 4 out of 5 free throws. The Matadors improved their record to 13-6 and 5-3 within the Big West Conference.
Alongside Washington, Marcus Adams Jr. contributed significantly by scoring 17 points on 7 of 12 shooting, with three successful 3-point shots out of five attempts. Keonte Jones rounded out the strong offensive showing with 12 points, going 5 for 12 in field goal attempts.
For Long Beach State, TJ Wainwright was the standout performer, finishing the game with 27 points. The Beach, who now hold a 7-13 record and 3-5 in conference play, also had Kam Martin contributing 13 points and two steals. Additionally, Austin Johnson added 12 points to the team’s efforts.
Both teams will return to the court on Saturday, as CSU Northridge travels to face off against UCSD, while Long Beach State visits Cal Poly for another Big West clash.
