    NORTHRIDGE, Calif.
    โ€” In an exciting matchup on Thursday, CSU Northridge secured an 86-76 victory against Long Beach State, with Scotty Washington leading the way by scoring 19 points.
    Washingtonโ€™s performance included shooting 7 for 14 from the field, hitting 1 of his 5 attempts from beyond the arc, and successfully sinking 4 out of 5 free throws. The Matadors improved their record to 13-6 and 5-3 within the Big West Conference.
    Alongside Washington, Marcus Adams Jr. contributed significantly by scoring 17 points on 7 of 12 shooting, with three successful 3-point shots out of five attempts. Keonte Jones rounded out the strong offensive showing with 12 points, going 5 for 12 in field goal attempts.
    For Long Beach State, TJ Wainwright was the standout performer, finishing the game with 27 points. The Beach, who now hold a 7-13 record and 3-5 in conference play, also had Kam Martin contributing 13 points and two steals. Additionally, Austin Johnson added 12 points to the teamโ€™s efforts.
    Both teams will return to the court on Saturday, as CSU Northridge travels to face off against UCSD, while Long Beach State visits Cal Poly for another Big West clash.
